Game soon?, maybe…

I have been called to run the Slave State adventure again soon, perhaps this weekend.  I need to review what is happening there.  So that I can plan a good session.

There are a few encounters that need to happen if at all possible.

One there is a Solar Exalted Zenith Caste traveling to the Slave States based on a rumour of a possible Solar in the area.  He has been successfully disguised as a Immaculate Monk and a Lost Egg Dragonblooded—it helps that before he Exalted we was a mortal monk following the Fire Dragon Style and when he Exalted he was able to learn the Exalted secrets of that style quickly. He later acquired the artifacts of an Immaculate and completes his disguise.

A possible encounter is one where he acts with a degree of kindness and compassion that draws Nameless' attention and later if forced into combat reveals a subtle Caste mark of the Zenith.  It is important for the Nameless to feel that he is gathering a group of allies to help him in his quests. Moreover so that the increasing threats that he is facing are balanced more.

The Nameless, has to see the town of Nowhere as growing with the freed slaves and the leaders in the town have learned more about the area and explored the land more fully.  The Exalted companions have discovered a number of demesne in the immeadiate area and have more fully explored the towns hinterland, including a ruined city nearby, q.v. blog post about manses.  The apparent plethora of untapped demesne is bitter sweet and he has no means of capping these wells of essence.  If only there were allies that could help him …

Another key encounter is for him to run into the Sidereal Gold Faction who is searching for him.  They are key to providing key information about how the world has changed from the First Age and for the Player to understand how the world differs from Canon.  They seek his aid and they are willing to give him aid as well, like offering to cap a number of manses for him.  More importantly, they have an offer of an alliance.  This Gold Faction squad was in the area for a specific reason and did not know that the Nameless was in the area.  True they were investigating the apparent exaltation spot of a Solar some few years ago, but they were only doing this because they were in the area.  Their true goal was to contact a god who had Gold Faction leanings.  The region just happens to be located about twenty kilometers south east of Nowhere (actually this is canon, I just moved set the exact location of the gods home.  The city was written up in the firstage supplements.  There was very little fiddling involved). They were inquiring as to a good location to set up a training camp for Solar Exalted in the Fledgling Cult of Illuminated.  They are looking for a place that is out of the way and has a means of easy support.  They are also looking for Solar Exalted to give the place a focus.  That Nowhere and the Nameless' base of operations is close by is serendipity for them.  If Nameless is against this, they will look for some other place, but they will make a number of promises that will provide a lot of aid to the Nameless.

1) they will cap all the demesne in the area for the Cult and his benefit.
2) they will offer him training and resource aids including access to sorcery.
3) they will accelerate the freeing of the slaves from the Realm in the Slave States.
4) he will be allowed to into the upper leadership of the Cult in the area and he can assign missions for Exalted members.

He will also be required to aid the Cult of the Illuminated in exchange though by:
1) engaging in rescue missions to save newly Exalted Solars and bring them to the new training camp.
2) he will need to agree to the camp being set up around the most powerful manse in the area
3) he will have to accept what they say as truth.

The player of Nameless often has a streak of Metagaming, and using things that his character is not aware of.  Things are different now, as that is all changed.  The usurpation of Solar control of Creation has left a very damaged world and has left the Gold Faction disorganized, because five of their traditional numbers were imprisioned with the Solars.

He also gets a letter from his Guild backers requesting a personal meeting.  His Guild backers turn out to be a Solar Exalted also.  This is the start of a very loose collection of Solar Exalted in Creation.  And the start of a very close circle of Solar Exalted in the training camps.

Side note, I was planning to use the Nameless as a common thread in another game as the rescuer of a number of Solar Exalted and leading them to the training camp and the Cult of Illuminated.
