Rhiannon Held wrote a book called Silver. Guess what it is about? It is not bad though, it is actually pretty good. It is set in this world at this time and there is no apology and certainly no explaining what these people are. Everyone in the book is one of these creatures and to them they are normal, so why would they need to explain themselves?
In the Second book, called Tarnished, there is a normal human as a character, so now there needs to be some explanation. Because a normal human can only pick so much up from a group of these people and might actually need someone to tell them something. This is fine, because the first book treats the audience as a member of this group of people, so we have been able to pick up what these people are, but now we can learn things about them that are not evident by what they do and say to each other.
In the first book we learn about their culture and their mythology, or is it a mythology at all or is it truth?
Andrew Dare is the enforcer for his Alpha. And his job as enforcer is to track down and confront individuals who stray into their territory uninvited. He also has to deal with any threats first hand. As the enforcer for the Roanoke territory he is a very feared individual, more so because of his past. Ten years ago when he lived in Europe his wife was murdered and he hunted down her murderers and wiped them out, all seven of them. That was not the worst of it though.
A strange woman is being hunted by something far worse than Dare. It is so bad that it has driven her insane and she has forgotten her name. Dare finds her and resolves that as part of his job he needs to find out who she is, where she is from and who is hunting her.
Did you guess that hey are Werewolves? The third book, Reflected, comes out sometime this year.
