Dangling

I really like Role Playing Games, I like to play, but I don't often get to.  I have a group and we play about every two weeks, but I am the one running that game and that means that it has been a very long time since I have picked up a character sheet and play; I miss it a lot.  I fear that my skills as a Game Master may be suffering.  More than usual.  I always worry about it because I am a settings specialist per se.  I come up with great ideas, people tell me on the way the worlds are set up and stuff like that, I make great Character Backgrounds, but I really suck at telling a story—that is actually having a story to tell.  What is that story I am trying to tell?  For me it is like I build a world and the characters have goals and they want to do stuff and when they do things the world reacts and the world changes, but that is not a plot.  It is not dialogue.  It is not complete.

Some people have said that they like my writing style and how I write, but I can't seem to get stories out; I stumble over dialogue and advancing the plot.  That is where I stop.  I recognize it.  But there is stops and
